As part of a reflection on nursing career pathways, I interviewed my mother, who is a registered nurse with over 3 and half years of experience working in a public hospital and is currently employed at a private hospital.

During the interview, she shared insights into the differences between public and private healthcare settings, the challenges and rewards of each, and how her experiences have shaped her professional growth. Her perspective provided valuable information about real-world nursing practices, patient care standards, and the evolving role of nurses in different healthcare systems.

This conversation helped me understand not only the technical and clinical demands of nursing but also the emotional resilience and adaptability required in the profession.
